Food focus: Dark Chocolate

Following Easter, this week we’re eating – in moderation(!) – dark chocolate!
Dark chocolate is a great source of antioxidants, fatty acids, minerals, and is also a source of soluble fibre. Recent studies have shown it can protect against cardiovascular disease, but should still be consumed in moderation as it can quickly bump up your calorie intake!
Be aware that a lot of the chocolate on the market is not great. Choose organic, dark chocolate with 80% or higher cocoa content. We love Lindt Chocolate – UK and Green & Black’s.
