The squat. Squatting engages large muscle groups meaning that it is great for both building muscular tissue as well as burning fat.
Favourite piece of kit?
The Prowler. This is such a good piece of equipment to progress explosive power. It’s also less strenuous on the lower back for those who need an alternative to barbell back squats – the prowler has a few variations too. Either a high grip or low grip push, you can clip a TRX to the front and drag it from one end of the track to the other and more.
Dream training partner?
Anthony Joshua. He is such an incredible athlete; Anthony is a hard worker, when he sets a goal he will throw all he’s got into achieving that with hard work and dedication through nutrition, training and general lifestyle. He keeps very humble despite his great achievements in both Olympic and Professional boxing. I would love to do conditioning work alongside Joshua any day.
The exercise you have a love-hate relationship with?
Pull ups are an exercise for me that just varies a lot, sometimes they’ll feel great and other days they will go the other way. I know how beneficial they are for building lean tissue in the lats (Latissimus Dorsi) and that’s why I’m determined to keep on working at them. Recently however, I have been consistently performing them on a regular basis and so they are an exercise I am really enjoying now.
Most played song on your gym playlist?
I listen to a lot of different songs whilst training. This is often dance music or house but can change to something more heavy on occasion when the going gets tough and I need something loud to pull me through those painful reps. Currently, my favourite song to listen to in the gym currently would be either Got the Feeling by Syn Cole or Angel by Vanze & Reunify.
